In the framework of the International Children’s Day, NCSA organized an activity where the importance of protecting children in the online space and the need to improve the legal framework was discussed. During his speech, the General Director of NCSA , Mr. Igli Tafa underlined that the need for legal changes has emerged from the meetings on the National Strategy for Cyber Security with the main actors, such as the State Police, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Defense and other institutions.
“It is time that cyberbullying, blackmail and other forms of online harassment are treated as criminal offences. These measures are necessary to prevent serious acts and to guarantee a safe environment for our children,” Mr. Tafa. He called for the immediate reporting of cases on the dedicated NCSA platform, ensuring that each case is treated with the utmost confidentiality and seriousness.
The meeting, attended by NCSA partners and students from schools in Tirana, served as an important step towards strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and raising awareness of the importance of safe use of the Internet. NCSA remains committed to protecting the future and well-being of children and young people through strategies and cooperation with institutions.
